ServicesStorm Damage Repair

Storm Damage Repair in The Village, OK

When hail or a hard wind has hit your home, we climb up, document each damaged area with photos, and write out the repair scope and what drives its price before any work begins. Every line item is on paper, and nothing is added once the crew arrives.

When storm damage repair is the right call

Oklahoma spring storms bring hail and straight-line wind that can bruise shingles, lift tabs and dent metal without leaving anything obvious from the yard. Storm damage repair returns the roof to a watertight condition, with replacement materials matched to the existing roof as closely as current products allow.

Not every storm calls for a new roof. If the damage is confined to one slope or a scattering of shingles, a repair is usually the sensible answer, and we will tell you so. If hail has fractured the shingle mat across most of the roof, we explain why roof replacement is the better investment and show you the photos behind that view.

Either way, the scope comes to you in writing first: what we found, what we propose to fix, and what sets the price.

What our storm repair work covers

A full roof walk with photos

We inspect every slope along with the vents, flashing, ridge and soft metals. You receive photos of each damaged area, which also help if you decide to file a claim.

Shingle and underlayment repair

Bruised, cracked or missing shingles are replaced, and we check the underlayment beneath them for tears or water staining. We match color and profile carefully and tell you plainly when a match will not be exact.

Flashing, vents and pipe boots

Wind loosens step flashing, and hail cracks plastic vents and rubber pipe boots. These small parts cause many of the leaks that show up weeks after a storm, so we reseal or replace them as part of the repair.

Temporary protection

Where the storm has left decking or underlayment exposed, we fasten a tarp over it to keep rain out until the permanent repair date.

Gutter and downspout damage

Dents and pulled hangers are noted on the same estimate. Larger gutter work is covered on our Gutters page.

Careful cleanup

Beds and walkways are protected during the work. Afterward we run a magnetic sweep for nails and haul away every scrap of old material.

Signs your roof took storm damage

  • Dark spots on shingles

Hail knocks the protective granules loose, leaving dark, bruised circles. Exposed asphalt breaks down faster in summer sun.

  • Granules in the gutters

A sudden pile of coarse grit at the downspouts after a storm usually means shingles lost surface protection.

  • Creased or missing shingles

Strong wind lifts a tab and folds it back, breaking the seal along a crease line. A shingle that has creased once rarely lies flat again.

  • Dented metal around the house

Dings in vents, gutters or air conditioner fins are a good clue the roof took hits too, even if it looks fine from below.

  • New stains inside

A fresh water mark on a ceiling or damp insulation in the attic means water has already found a path through.

How a storm repair job runs

  1. 1

    Your call and the inspection

Let us know the date of the storm and anything you have spotted since, from loose shingles to a new ceiling stain. We arrange a visit to walk the roof, look in the attic when it helps, and photograph every damaged area.

  2. 2

    A written scope and estimate

You get a line-item estimate listing materials, quantities and the reason for each item. If you are filing an insurance claim, we explain what we found and how a claim generally moves, while the coverage decision stays with your insurer and its adjuster.

  3. 3

    Repair day

The crew protects landscaping, removes damaged material down to sound decking, and installs new underlayment, shingles and flashing. Most repairs are finished in a single visit.

  4. 4

    Final walk and cleanup

We walk the finished work with you, share photos of the completed repair, and leave the yard swept and clear.

What sets the price of a storm repair

Storm repairs vary more than most roofing work, because two houses on the same street can take very different hits. Your written estimate names each cost and the reason behind it. If we uncover hidden damage once work begins, we stop, show you, and get your approval before going further.

How much of the roof was hit
Replacing a handful of shingles on a single slope is modest work. When hail or wind has marked several slopes, the material list grows and the crew needs more hours on the roof.
The decking underneath
Water that got past the shingles can soften or delaminate the plywood. Any decking that must be replaced is photographed and listed separately.
Matching your materials
Discontinued shingle lines, architectural profiles and specialty metals can take more effort to match well.
How hard the roof is to work on
A sharp pitch or a two-story roofline means more harnessing, roof jacks and careful staging. Narrow gaps between houses can slow how quickly materials go up and debris comes down, and that time shows on the estimate.
Permits
When the size of a repair requires a permit, we pull it and list the cost on your estimate.

Storm damage repair questions

Something not covered here? (405) 870-9078

Do I need to file an insurance claim before I call you?

No. Many homeowners prefer to have the roof inspected first and decide afterward. Our photos and written findings give you a clear picture to share with your insurer if you choose to file. We explain the process, but your insurer and its adjuster decide what the policy covers.

How soon after a hailstorm should my roof be checked?

Reasonably soon. Hail bruises often look minor at first and turn into leaks months later as the damaged shingles age. Many policies also set a window for reporting storm damage, so it is worth checking yours.

Will the repaired section match the rest of my roof?

We match brand, color and profile as closely as current products allow. New shingles can look slightly brighter until they weather in. If an exact match is not available, we tell you before work starts so you can decide how to proceed.

Can you fix just the damaged area instead of replacing the whole roof?

Often, yes. If the storm marked one section and the surrounding shingles are still in good shape, repairing that section is usually the better value. We suggest a full replacement only when the photos show damage spread over most of the roof.

What happens if you find more damage once the old shingles are off?

We pause, photograph it, and walk you through it. Any added work is written up and approved by you before we continue, so the final invoice holds no surprises.

Have the storm damage looked at properly

We will walk the roof, photograph what the storm left behind, and hand you a written repair scope before anything is touched. One phone call sets the time.
